Final steps & status maintenance

Citizenship & PR Cards — close the loop.

Becoming Canadian doesn't end at landing. We help permanent residents maintain status, renew or replace PR cards, navigate residency obligations, and — when the time is right — apply for Canadian citizenship.

PR Card renewals & replacements

Your Permanent Resident card proves your status. It needs to be valid for travel back to Canada and is renewed roughly every five years. If your card is expiring, lost, damaged, or has the wrong information, we prepare the renewal or replacement application — including the proof needed to demonstrate you've met your residency obligation.

Travel documents for PRs

If your PR card has expired while you're outside Canada, a Permanent Resident Travel Document (PRTD) is how you return. We prepare PRTD applications and supporting evidence — especially for cases where the residency obligation is borderline or has been missed for humanitarian reasons.

Canadian citizenship

  • Confirm you meet the physical presence (1,095 days), income tax filing, and language requirements.
  • Prepare your application and citizenship test booking, with study support.
  • Track the process through to the oath ceremony.
  • Support family applications, including minor children and adopted children.

Frequently asked

You need at least 1,095 days of physical presence in Canada as a permanent resident within the five years before applying, along with filing Canadian income taxes for any required years.

If you're outside Canada, you'll need a PR Travel Document (PRTD) to fly back. From within Canada, an expired PR card doesn't end your status — you just can't use it for re-entry until renewed.

We'll review your circumstances. Humanitarian and compassionate considerations can sometimes preserve PR status — but they require careful documentation.

Adults aged 18–54 must take the citizenship test. We provide guidance and study resources so you walk in confident.
